Tietoturvaseteli Valtioneuvosto antoi 13.10.2022 asetuksen tietoturvan kehittämisen tuesta, eli tietoturvasetelistä. Tietoturvaseteli on tarkoitettu yhteiskunnan toiminnan kannalta kriittisten alojen yrityksille. We have invested for years in countering denial-of-service attacks by, among other things, strengthening the expertise of our staff and investing in various systems, such as market-leading equipment from Arbor. Our system blocks volumetric attacks and cleans harmful traffic out of legitimate traffic, so our customers do not even notice they have been targeted. In addition, we filter networks that transmit malicious traffic, and when necessary, we have the ability to completely remove routes to hostile entities from our network. We upgraded our FICIX peering connection to a 100G speed. The upgrade is part of our backbone network modernization project, in which all key connections are being upgraded to 100G. At the same time, we discontinued our AMS-IX connection because exchanging traffic through FICIX is significantly more cost-effective and of higher quality thanks to the new connections.

We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our network, as evidenced by our latest peering agreements. We are the first operator in Finland to establish peering agreements with all three major cloud service providers: Microsoft, Google and Amazon. Traffic is exchanged within Finland, resulting in latency of approximately 1ms from SuomiCom’s network to these three networks. This significantly benefits customers using the cloud services of these three providers.

Today, we launched our new website. We updated both the visual design and content to better reflect what SuomiCom is and aspires to be. The goal of this redesign was to more effectively and concisely communicate the services we offer and to highlight our values. Responsibility has always been important to us, and for over 20 years, we have prioritized environmentally friendly decisions and solutions to reduce our environmental impact in the telecommunications industry.
