We have once again doubled our traffic volume at the FICIX exchange point within a year (now 10G), and our traffic now accounts for 10% of the total traffic at the FICIX node (100G). Our customers value the direct and low-latency connections that we have achieved through extensive peering agreements.
We upgraded our FICIX peering connection to a 100G speed. The upgrade is part of our backbone network modernization project, in which all key connections are being upgraded to 100G. At the same time, we discontinued our AMS-IX connection because exchanging traffic through FICIX is significantly more cost-effective and of higher quality thanks to the new connections.
We have invested for years in countering denial-of-service attacks by, among other things, strengthening the expertise of our staff and investing in various systems, such as market-leading equipment from Arbor. Our system blocks volumetric attacks and cleans harmful traffic out of legitimate traffic, so our customers do not even notice they have been targeted. In addition, we filter networks that transmit malicious traffic, and when necessary, we have the ability to completely remove routes to hostile entities from our network. We are constantly striving to improve the quality of our network, as evidenced by our latest peering agreements. We are the first operator in Finland to establish peering agreements with all three major cloud service providers: Microsoft, Google and Amazon. Traffic is exchanged within Finland, resulting in latency of approximately 1ms from SuomiCom’s network to these three networks. This significantly benefits customers using the cloud services of these three providers.

The goal of this redesign was to more effectively and concisely communicate the services we offer and to highlight our values.
